Dear friend,
We want you to know that you are welcome at First. Though the church has been here for more than sixty years, beginning Berean High School, operating Walnut Creek Christian Academy and sending people around the world to do ministry, as pastor, I have only been here since Easter, 2000.
In coming to the church, I was looking for a church filled with PASSION. I wanted to serve with people who love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, and might. I was also looking for people with PERSPECTIVE. The people here realize that we do not live by bread alone but by the Word of God. I also wanted to work with people who know our PURPOSE. We have a desire to be a purpose driven church. Next, I wanted to see a group who was POSITIVE. We have such a great hope. The glass is not half empty! Also, I wanted people who were PEACEMAKERS. We have a job to do for God so we need to be people who have a mind to work together.
And I wanted a church with POTENTIAL. And certainly, this area with its diversity and mobilization was just the spot for this. Lastly, we wanted a ministry that understood that PRESENTATION of truth was important because the language that unites the world is visual. This is the reason we are making use of media and technology. We invite you to come, give us a chance and be part of a vibrant and exciting vision for our area.
