Success in our Church

What do Americans believe is necessary for them to have lived a “successful” life? The options are surprisingly few. What we discovered is that success relates to the following:

  • One-third said the health and well being of their family, or how well they raised their children, would determine their success;

  • One out of every four adults defines personal success in terms of tangible outcomes or accomplishments;

  • One out of four adults has no idea what would signify that they had lived a successful life;

  • Only one out of every fourteen adults said that anything related to spirituality or faith would result in “success.”

If you want to find out more about people's success views - and how people from various faith groups responded - visit our website (www.barna.org) to read the complete story.

Too bad that these people didn't hear pastor's message on "Success over Stress." They may have seen the importance of God's Word in their life. As Joshua said in Joshua 1,

"The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don't get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you're going. And don't for a minute let this Book of the Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written it . Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll have success”.
